My name is Kyle and I have lived in the Czech Republic since 2012. I graduated from Millersville University in Pennsylvania after earning my bachelor’s degree in sociology. After university, I spent 2 years working as a living assistant for individuals with intellectual disabilities. In the course of this job, I helped individuals in learning essential life skills such as hygiene, cooking, and even how to gain a job in typical community life so that they may be fully integrated into society. Although this job was quite fulfilling for me, I made the decision to move to the Czech Republic.
In Prague, I earned my TEFL certificate from the Language House to teach English as a foreign language. I have spent the entirety of my time in Prague as an English teacher, particularly for children. I worked for 4 years in preschools and gained the experience of working with children who have had zero exposure to the English language. I found this to be extremely valuable in developing their English skills from a very young age. After years of working in preschools, I chose to focus my attention on developing the English skills of primary school children and have worked at Dino School as an elementary teacher since 2018.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time tinkering with electronics and building computers. When able, I also enjoy taking local trips around the country for hikes and camping trips. In nice weather, I enjoy appreciating the natural beauty that the Czech Republic and Europe has to offer.
